• Utica deli inspection ends with seizure of 30 packets of K2 (uticaod.com) — Inspectors seized suspected K2 and other unknown substances from Dalaly Deli on Eagle Street in Utica during a county compliance check targeting dangerous products. Officials say the operation is part of tougher local laws and ongoing crackdowns on synthetic cannabinoids and kratom at neighborhood businesses, with more inspections and possible closures still ahead.
   

• Utica seeks project proposals for $4.5M NY Forward grant plan (uticaod.com) — Utica residents can help shape how a $4.5 million NY Forward grant is spent in the Uptown area, with a key planning meeting set for Sept. 14 at the Utica Children's Museum. The Local Planning Committee is actively seeking project proposals that boost the neighborhood's economy and walkability, with applications due by Oct. 9 online or at City Hall.
   

• Utica man arrested in pair of shots-fired incidents (cnyhomepage.com) — A 41-year-old Utica man has been arrested after police say he fired shots during two separate confrontations on Eagle Street and St. Vincent Street, narrowly missing two victims and damaging a nearby home. Utica police and county deputies located and arrested him on Eagle Street, and he now faces multiple felony counts of attempted assault and weapons possession.
