(medscape.com subscription) — A New York Medical College student based in Valhalla helped lead a large study suggesting the common drug gabapentin might be linked to better cognitive outcomes after mild traumatic brain injury and lower mortality after severe cases. Researchers stress the findings are preliminary and don’t justify changing treatment yet, but say the results are strong enough to warrant a randomized clinical trial.
