11th Annual Tribute to Fallen NYPD Officer & Army Staff Sgt. James D. McNaughton of Centereach on Saturday, April 16th
More than 1,000 people will gather on April 16th at Mulcahy's in Wantagh for the 11th annual tribute to Staff Sgt. James D. McNaughton.

More than 1,000 people will gather on Saturday, April 16th for the 11th annual fundraiser and tribute to Staff Sgt. James D. McNaugthton. In August 2005, at the age of 27, McNaughton was fatally shot by a sniper while on a mission in Baghdad, becoming the first New York City police officer to be killed in combat in the Iraq war. He dedicated his life to the freedom and safety of others.
The fundraiser will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mulcahy’s Pub and Music Hall at 3232 Railroad Avenue in Wantagh, NY. To mark the anniversary, there will be a wide variety of entertainment, including performances by the USO and the New York Shields Police Bag Pipes and Drums Band. The day will also feature food, giveaways, dozens of raffle prizes, and more.
The James D. McNaughton Foundation is an organization that donates to the Northport Veterans Association PTSD Unit and 9-1-1 Veterans.
