The two friends were reportedly part of several cars full of friends heading to Baldwin to go bowling.
“We were in four different cars,” friend Kimberly Clyne told WCBS. “We were going to the bowling alley like we usually do — they close at 3 a.m. in Baldwin — and everything just went wrong.”
The cause of the accident has not been reported.
The crash prompted police to shut the parkway down between Exits 14 and 17 until after 7 a.m., said WCBS.
No criminality is suspected and police said they found no drugs or alcohol present, said WCBS.
