Boats Broken Into at Wantagh Park Marina

Seventh Squad is investigating missing items and damages to six vessels.

Nassau County Seventh Squad detectives are investigating several larcenies that occurred in boats docked at a Wantagh Park marina.

Detectives said sometime between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Aug. 26 and 27 six boats at Dock B in Wantagh Park were unlawfully broken into. Most of the privately owned vessels sustained damage to cabin doors, police said. Some of the items removed from the boats included fishing poles, binoculars, an outboard motor as well as assorted electronics such as depth finders, VHF radios and GPS navigation systems, according to detectives.

Detectives request anyone with information about these boat break-ins to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
