Suffolk County Police need the public’s help in investigating a hit-and-run that critically injured a pedestrian in East Farmingdale Tuesday night.
A male pedestrian, in his 60s, was walking on Wellwood Avenue when he was struck by a 2008 Mercedes Benz, driven by Oliver David, who was traveling south on Wellwood Avenue at 10:50 p.m.
David, 41, of Freeport, was attempting to stop southbound traffic on Wellwood Avenue when a second vehicle, described as an older model silver Nissan Altima, also struck the injured pedestrian and then fled the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was last seen heading south on Wellwood Avenue towards Southern State Parkway.
The victim was transported by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is being treated for head and internal injuries.

David was not charged. The identity of the victim, who has no known address, is pending notification of family.
The investigation is continuing.
