Cops: Man Tried Breaking into Seaford Home

The man tried to break into the house while the homeowner was asleep inside early Friday morning, police said.

A man tried to break into a Seaford home on Franklin Avenue early Friday morning while the homeowner was inside sleeping, authorities said.

Nassau police say that at 4:03 a.m., a man was asleep in his upstairs bedroom when he heard someone walking on the side of his home. The homeowner went downstairs to investigate and saw an unknown male attempting to open his back patio door. Seeing the homeowner, the would-be burglar fled on foot in an unknown direction.

There was no entry into the house, police said.

The man who attempted to break into the home is described as approximately 6 feet, stocky build, wearing black sweatpants, black sneakers and black gloves, police said.
