Crackdown On Underage Drinking At Jones Beach Concerts: Cuomo
Those purchasing alcohol with a fake ID could have their driver's license revoked for at least 90 days, the governor's office announced.

WANTAGH, NY — While there is a full slate of summer concerts at Jones Beach that also means the concern for underage drinking is on the rise.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that state investigators will be on patrol at the Jones Beach venue and other theaters.
They will focus on underage drinking and those who purchase alcohol with fake IDs, the governor's news release said.

"New Yorkers fought hard against COVID-19, and because of their toughness, we can once again enjoy live music at the outstanding venues across this state," Cuomo said in a statement. "Through this enforcement effort, investigators are working together to combat a dangerous problem and keep New Yorkers safe."
As part of Operation Prevent, those who are under the age of 21 found to be using fake IDs to buy alcohol can be ticketed and their licenses can be revoked for a minimum of 90 days or up to 1 year, Cuomo's office said.

"We want all music fans to fully enjoy the wonderful concert venues, but illegal alcohol use in our parks will not be tolerated," Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner Erik Kulleseid said.
