Okay, so maybe my first post will be a little more serious than I first anticipated. The day started out in the usual manner - getting three kids off to school and a husband out to work. Throwing in a load of laundry, cleaning up the kitchen, straightening up the livingroom. Then putting the dog in the car for a trip to the vet. And that's when the ordinary turned into the scary. Near exit 19 on the Southern State a red car was parked on the grass near the off ramp. Now we've all seen cars parked on the side, nothing strange about that. And usually, when they try to re-enter the highway, they might start slowly, they might try to merge, they might even use a signal. Well...not this person. As I drove in the right lane, they decided to make a hard left and re-enter the highway right in front of my car. Now I do believe in guardian angels and I believe my particular angel went into action quickly. I knew I wouldn't have time to stop and I knew no one was directly beside me. All I could do was steer my car into the next lane and lean on the horn. You think that might have alerted the other fellow. Think again. They just kept coming. I had to move all the way into the next lane to keep from getting hit and from broadsiding them! And guess what, they did all that maneuvering just to get off at the next exit!!! By the time I arrived at the vet's office I think I was shaking harder than my dog. So, don't take those ordinary, inconsequential moments for granted. You never know what's waiting around the corner. I promise my next post will be a little more light-hearted. I'll explain how I came up with the title. Drive safely everyone!
