Hate-Filled Graffiti Found At Park On South Shore
The scrawlings were found and quickly removed by Town of Hempstead employees.
SEAFORD, NY — Hate-filled graffiti was found over the weekend on playground equipment at Estella Park in Seaford.
The graffiti was discovered on Sunday at around 4 p.m. and was immediately removed by Town of Hempstead workers.
Town of Hempstead Councilman Chris Carini said in a statement: "Hate crimes and graffiti will not be tolerated in the Town of Hempstead. I have no doubt that the Nassau County Police Department will find those responsible."

A spokesperson for the town said in a statement: “The Town of Hempstead has a zero-tolerance policy regarding all forms of hate crimes, graffiti and vandalism. Immediately after discovery, town employees began removing the graffiti from the property. The Town of Hempstead notified the Nassau County Police of the incidents. The Town will continue to work with the police and residents to ensure that our beautiful streets, parks, businesses and local establishments remain free of all forms of graffiti to help preserve our community’s quality of life.”
Police are investigating the incident as a criminal mischief crime, News 12 said.

Carini added: "Our local parks, neighborhoods and train stations have seen an increase in graffiti due to the soft-on-crime approach in Albany passing legislation such as cashless bail and raise the age."
