Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Nassau

Flash flooding possible Wednesday, National Weather Service says.

The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Nassau County:

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN THAT COULD POSSIBLY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING.

  • Today- Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 79. South wind 7 to 10 mph.
  • Tonight- A slight chance of showers after 2am. Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Tuesday- A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9am. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 82. South wind 6 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Tuesday Night- A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Wednesday- A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
  • Wednesday Night- Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
