Hurricane Preparedness Forum Set for September
Community forum with emergency management officials at Island Trees High School.

As hurricane season approaches, Nassau County officials are helping residents prepare with a community forum.
A Hurricane Preparedness Community Forum is set for Sept. 4 at Island Trees High School. The forum will run from 7-9 p.m. and is open and free to the public to learn how to prep their homes, family, and pets for hurricane season.
“The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1 through November 30,” said Sen. Kemp Hannon, R-Garden City. “Peak season is just beginning now, so it’s important for everyone to be ready.”
