JGSLI - Jewish Genealogy 101: Four Hours+ to Your Family Roots

Please join us for the Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island's (JGSLI) 23rd annual family history workshop, "Jewish Genealogy 101: Four Hours+ to Your Family Roots." The workshop is recommended both for beginners and for family historians who want to brush up or expand their skills.

Attendees receive a copy of the workshop manual (one workshop manual per family), "Jewish Genealogy 101." A light lunch, bagels and spreads, coffee and cake, will be served.

The workshop will include expert instruction on the sources and strategies essential for effective Jewish genealogical research....

- interviewing relatives

- identifying ancestral towns

- Holocaust research

- using censuses, city directories, ship's manifests, naturalizations, vital records, and other U.S. sources

- European records

- computer and Internet resources
