The Wantagh Fire Department led the effort to put out the blaze, which took approximately 45 minutes to get under control.

In addition to Wantagh, the Seaford, Massapequa, North Massapequa, Levittown, Merrick and East Meadow Fire Departments assisted.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals office and investigators from the Nassau County Police Department arson/bomb unit, although it does not appear suspicious, Regan said.
