LI Man Robbed Another At Knifepoint At LIRR Station: Police

Police say officers saw the two men arguing while on patrol and investigated, which led to the arrest.

An Amityville man was arrested in Wantagh Wednesday morning after police say he tried to rob a man at knifepoint.

According to police, officers were on a routine patrol at 4:17 a.m. when they saw two men arguing on the platform of the Wantagh LIRR station. The officers investigated, and police say they determined that Clayton Rhoden, 30, of Chestnut Road, had held a knife to the face of a 34-year-old man and taken his wallet. Rhoden was arrested without incident.

Rhoden is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned today in First district court in Hempstead.
