Long Island Teen Dies After Overdosing on Oxycodone, Dealer Arrested: Police
BREAKING: A 19-year-old woman was found dead Saturday morning. The man who sold her oxycodone pills is behind bars, police say.
EAST MEADOW, NY – A 19-year-old Long Island woman died Saturday after overdosing on oxycodone and the man who sold her the pills has been arrested, Nassau Police said.
According to police, Third Precinct patrol officers responded to a Barbara Drive home in East Meadow for a reported overdose at 8:20 a.m. Upon arrival, the officers found a 19-year-old woman, who police did not identify, dead on the floor.
An investigation by detectives and the patrol officers determined that 28-year-old Bruno A. Mendez, of Maple Avenue in East Meadow, was the person who sold the woman oxycodone pills.

The detectives located Mendez and placed him under arrest at 2:50 p.m. At the time of his arrest, Mendez was in possession of two oxycodone pills, police said.
Mendez is charged with third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third degree criminal possession of a controlled. He will be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
