Long Island Weekend Weather: Go Outside. Seriously.

Hello, gorgeous weekend. Here's the latest Long Island forecast for this weekend from the National Weather Service.

You've earned this.

You've spent the last several months receiving news alerts from Patch about pretty awful Long Island weather, from winter storm warnings to wind chill advisories and everything else cold in between.

But this time, we come bearing news of near-perfect weather for the weekend.

It will still be cold overnight (in fact there's a freeze warning for the East End early Saturday), but check out the daytime highs this weekend and then go dig through your closet and find those flip-flops. No binge-watching Netflix this weekend. Get out there and enjoy it. In fact, if you are working right now, leave work early. (Note: Patch cannot be held responsible for any consequences that may come from you cutting out of work.)

Here's the gorgeous forecast from the National Weather Service:

  • Friday Night- Clear, with a low around 37. East wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm.
  • Saturday- Sunny, with a high near 61. North wind 15 to 18 mph.
  • Saturday Night- Clear, with a low around 40. Northeast wind 7 to 10 mph.
  • Sunday- Sunny, with a high near 68. North wind 7 to 10 mph.
  • Sunday Night- Clear, with a low around 45. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Monday- Sunny, with a high near 72.
