Man Armed With Knife, Lead Pipe Invades Nassau County Home

Four people inside the home, including a child, were forced into a bathroom Wednesday morning, police say.

LEVITTOWN, NY- Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Levittown Wednesday morning.

Police say a man armed with a knife and a lead pipe entered a North Jerusalem Road residence through an unlocked front door around 4:40 a.m.

The man went to the second floor and awoke three adults–two females and one male–along with a male juvenile. He then forced the victims into a bathroom and proceeded to go through the house removing items, including the car keys to a 2005 Honda CRV and an ATM card.

A fifth male resident who arrived home was alerted to the man’s presence and locked himself in his first floor bedroom. The man attempted to gain access by banging on the door with the pipe while the victim in the room called the police, police said.

The man fled the scene in the victim’s Honda before police arrived. There were no injuries reported.

The man is described as white, 5-foot-6 and 165 pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket and blue latex gloves.
