Man Arrested After Hosting Wedding Party With Professional Grade Fireworks: Police
Officers responding to noise complaints found 49 pyrotechnic mortars and a pyrotechnic display cake at his home, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY – A Massapequa man was arrested early Saturday for possession of fireworks after police responded to a large wedding party at his home, Nassau Police said.
Police said they received noise complaints for a large loud party with fireworks at 41 Riverdale Ave. shortly after midnight. When officers arrived, they observed a large wedding party along with large professional fireworks being discharged, police said.
An investigation of the area revealed many professional grade fireworks, including 49 pyrotechnic mortars, a pyrotechnic display cake and numerous firecrackers, police said.

Officers interviewed the homeowner, 39-year-old Thomas Giglio, who told police that the fireworks were for his wedding party, police said. Giglio was then placed into police custody.
The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad responded and secured the remaining fireworks.

Giglio is charged with possession of fireworks under with Labor Law Section 458. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
