Nassau DA To Investigate Cuomo For Potential Sexual Misconduct
Suffolk County Executive Bellone is the latest to call for the governor to resign.

MINEOLA, NY — In the wake of the state attorney general's report documenting numerous incidents of sexual harassment by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the acting Nassau County District Attorney said the findings were "deeply disturbing" and is looking into possible criminal action.
Many politicians, including those in Cuomo's own party, are demanding he step down immediately or impeachment proceedings should begin.
"We have requested the attorney general’s records related to any incidents that occurred in Nassau County and will thoroughly and expeditiously investigate any potential crimes," acting D.A. Joyce Smith said in a statement.

Smith isn't the first to look at the legal aspect.
Anne Donnelly, the Republican candidate for Nassau D.A., said "justice requires the governor's prosecution for his actions."

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone is one of the last major Long Island politicians to add his name to the chorus in opposition on Thursday.
Bellone said in a statement that after reviewing the attorney general's report in its entirety it was determined the experiences of the "courageous women" are "specific, corroborated and credible."
To fight against sexual harassment in the workplace requires "new leadership," Bellone said. "It is time for the governor to resign."
Calls for Cuomo to leave his high-profile position reached all the way to Washington as President Joe Biden said: "He should resign."
However, Cuomo was steadfast in his denial of any inappropriate behavior in a video response on Tuesday.
"That is just not who I am, and that is not who I have ever been," he said.
