Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. A Seaford man was arrested Sunday night after police say he attacked his elderly mother after they got into an argument. According to police, Gregory Zakaluk, 55, got into an argument with his 92-year-old mother around 10 p.m. Sunday night, while Zakaluk was at her house. As the argument escalated, police say the mother walked out of her house and was followed by Zakaluk. Police say Zakaluk became physical with his mother and dragged her across the concrete and back towards the house. His mother screamed, and neighbors came to help her. She suffered injuries and bruising to her left leg and forearms. Zakaluk was arrested without incident. Zakaluk is charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person.
