New York American Water Donates $1,000 to Wantagh Fire Department

MERRICK, N.Y. (May 2, 2014) – New York American Water recently presented a $1,000 grant to the Wantagh Fire Department towards the use of purchasing emergency equipment. 

“We truly appreciate the dedication and commitment from all of the Wantagh volunteer firefighters who protect our lives every single day,” said Brian Bruce, New York American Water Vice President of Operations.  “It is our honor to provide our heroes with a contribution as we strive to give them – and our residents –the best possible service and value every day.”

The American Water Charitable Foundation offers funding for various community and nonprofit organizations in the water provider’s service areas.  New York American Water has donated thousands of dollars through the Foundation to various Nassau County emergency services programs in the last seven months alone.

The Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2010 with a founding contribution from American.  No customer funds are part of the American Water Charitable Foundation endowment.
