Patch Poll: McCain's Comment about Long Island

In a session of the U.S. Senate, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., made a less than favorable comment about Long Island during a talk about the treatment of enemy combatants.

He said, "Last I checked, Long Island was part – albeit sometimes regrettably – of the United States of America."

This prompted New York Senator, Chuck Schumer, to tweet, "@SenJohnMcCain - All of America saw how heroic Long Islanders were on 9/11. #LongIsland deserves an apology."
