Peter King Easily Captures GOP Primary

Seaford congressman easily defeats challenger Robert Previdi.

Congressman Peter King (R-Seaford) easily captured the Republican nomination for the 3rd Congressional District Tuesday night over challenger Robert Previdi.

With 98% of election precincts reporting the Seaford republican had captured 91 percent of the vote against Previdi, a Manhasset resident who had been defeated by King on three previous occasions before Tuesday. King, the ranking member of the Committee of Homeland Security, will now face Democratic candidate Howard Kudler of Merrick in the general election on Nov. 2.

Other elected officials for the Wantagh-Seaford area did not have contested primaries Tuesday. State Senator Charles Fuschillo (R-Merrick) will face Democrat Carol Gordon in November's general election while Assemblyman David McDonough will square off against Democratic candidate John Brooks of Seaford.
