Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. Nassau County Police and wildlife officials helped rescue a young osprey that was tangled in fishing wire in Wantagh, according to police.Emergency serviced and Wantagh Fire Department responded to Wantagh Park at 3 p.m. Saturday after reports of a young bird tangled in a nest. Responders found the fledgling osprey was caught in fishing line that was part of its nest, police said. The bird had tried to fly out of its 75-foot-high nest on top of a light pole.After cutting the osprey loose, it was found with a leg injury and turned over to Wildlife in Need, which will nurture the bird back to health and release it after it has recovered.
