Seaford Man, Wantagh Woman Killed in North Bellmore Crash
BREAKING: A 20-year-old driver and a pedestrian were killed in the crash Friday night, police say.

NORTH BELLMORE, NY – Two people were killed in a crash involving five vehicles in North Bellmore Friday night, police said.
According to police, 20-year-old Stephen A. Rossman, of Seaford, was driving a 2014 Nissan Rogue at a high rate of speed westbound on Jerusalem Avenue when he struck the rear of a 2007 Nissan Altima near George Road at 9:25 p.m.
The Altima, which was being driven by a 26-year-old woman, spun out of control and struck a 45-year-old Wantagh woman who was crossing Jerusalem Avenue on foot. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

As the Altima continued to spin, it struck a 2013 Subaru that was traveling eastbound on Jerusalem Avenue, police said. Rossman’s SUV continued westbound, striking a roll-off dumpster, causing the dumpster to strike a 2005 Nissan that was heading westbound.
Rossman’s car came to rest after striking a 2006 Ford box truck that was parked on Jerusalem Avenue. Rossman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan Altima was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The drivers of the Subaru, a 54-year-old man, and the second Nissan, a 27-year-old woman, refused medical attention at the scene and were able to remove their vehicles from scene.
Identification of the pedestrian who was killed is being withheld until notification of the family, police said.
