Seaford Woman Killed in Crash on Wantagh Parkway

The accident occurred Thursday morning, police say.

A Seaford woman was killed when her car struck a tree off the shoulder of the Wantagh State Parkway Thursday morning.

State Police said they received multiple calls of a car into the woods on the northbound side of the parkway, south of the Southern State Parkway, around 8:48 a.m.

When troopers arrived on the scene they discovered a black Cadillac DTS sedan had struck a tree on the right shoulder at a high rate of speed, police said.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, 43-year-old Amy Giunta, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several motorists witnessed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed before crossing the lanes of the roadway, driving onto the shoulder, and striking the tree, police said.
