Seaford Wrestlers Gear Up For Playoffs
Vikings use three dual matches Saturday as tune-up for postseason.
Wrestlers from Seaford, East Meadow, Long Beach, Mineola and Bethpage squared off on Saturday at to get their final matches in before the dual meet playoffs and qualifying tournaments begin. Host school East Meadow dominated the day winning all four of their matches.
Seaford took Saturday as a chance to get their healthy guys matches and prepare their team for the upcoming playoffs. The Vikings went 1-2 in dual meet action Saturday defeated Long Beach 45-21 and falling to Bethpage 56-27 and East Meadow 51-24.
“We are not worried about the score just getting ready for the playoffs,” said Seaford wrestling head coach Rob Takseraas.

That mentality was echoed by last year’s county champion Will Montgomery of Seaford wrestling at 119 pounds. Montgomery took each match he had Saturday as a learning experience for him to prepare for playoff matches. “I wanted to do one thing each match to get better,” said Montgomery.
