Three Dozen Wantagh Students Named AP Scholars

The students all did exceptionally well on the difficult AP exams.

The College Board has recognized 38 Wantagh High School students from the class of 2018 and class of 2019 as Advanced Placement Scholars for exceptional achievement on the May 2017 national exams.

There were 21 seniors and two juniors who qualified for the AP Scholar Award by receiving a 3 or higher on three or more exams and include: Amanda Annunziata, Angela Barberio, Roxana Cardoza, Nicholas Cerasi, Olivia Charytonowicz, Jaclyn Corbin, Faith Francioso, Matthew Hanauer, Nina Inayan, Alexandra Janotha, Karen Kawecki, Julianna King, Kevin Merting, Samantha Olsen, Andriana Patmanidis, Constantine Patmanidis, Joanna Radoslovich, Jessica Rossi, Dean Stavrides, Keriann Steingruebner, Jarod Sullivan, Sarah Valvo and Olivia Zukowski.

Nicole Bindell, Melissa Cruz, Katherine Gifford, Caitlin Jaeggli, Matthew Kirk, Ryan Krieger, Nicolette Marciana and Thomas Moran received the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of those exams.

Anna Browne, Samantha Cashton, Hunter Felix, Gavin Guerrera, Michael Hennig, Benjamin Schablin and Kyleigh Watson also qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on five or more of these exams.

AP courses completed with a score of 3 or higher on the final exam may afford students the opportunity to earn college credit.
