This week, Long Island’s own singer and songwriter Trish Torrales will be a contestant on MTV’s reality show Copycat. New this season, Copycat features performers competing to win over the studio audience by copying some of the biggest names in the music industry. The show is hosted by Jonathan Bennett of Mean Girls, and the ultimate winner is decided based on audience votes. Torrales will be using her trademark southern-rock sound to imitate the country star Miranda Lambert. Her episode airs Thursday, June 12, at 2:55 p.m. on MTV.
After auditioning for the show this past January, Torrales flew to Los Angeles for filming. “Getting to film in LA was amazing,” Torrales said. “I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to be on the show- it’s definitely a highlight of my career so far! I can’t wait for everyone to see the show.” Torrales will also be performing at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village this Friday, June 13, at 7 p.m., and her second rock single “Nitty Gritty” will be released this summer.
