Two East Meadow Men Killed After Car Collides With Dump Truck
Fatal crash occurred on North Jerusalem Road Monday afternoon, police say.

Two East Meadow men were killed in a crash Monday afternoon when the car one of the men was driving crashed into a landscaping company’s dump truck in East Meadow, police said.
According to police, Stephen Clark, 20, was driving a 2000 Honda Accord west on North Jerusalem Road near Roxboro Court at 1:53 p.m. when the Accord crossed over into the eastbound lanes and struck the dump truck, which had been towing a tandem wheel trailer at the time, police said.

Clark and his passenger, Robert Treimanis, 19, were extricated from the car by Nassau County Emergency Services and members of the North Bellmore and East Meadow fire departments. Clark and Treimanis were both pronounced dead at a local hospital a short time later, police said.
The driver of the truck, along with his two passengers, where treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded from the scene for brake, safety and mechanical inspections. The driver of the truck, which is owned by Westbury-based J. Canas Landscaping, was issued traffic tickets for being unlicensed and having a suspension on his existing record. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
