Wantagh FD Taking Part in Ebola Drill Wednesday
Fire officials to join Nassau Police, EMTs, health authorities in emergency drill and demonstration.

Wantagh Fire Department is taking part in an emergency Ebola drill and demonstration Wednesday night.
Chief Jason Jackowitz and department members will join police and EMS in the safety drill that is set for 7:30 p.m. at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow.
During the drill, medical personnel specializing in infectious diseases will be dressed in protective gear. Firefighters and hospital workers will respond as though an Ebola outbreak hit Long Island.

Other Long Island hospitals have prepared emergency protocol in case of an outbreak.
Glen Cove Hospital announced last month that they were preparing to beam a temporary specialized treatment center. Hospital officials said Stony Brook Hospital would also be involved and function as a research center.
