Wantagh Fire Department Battles House Fire

BREAKING: The blaze could have easily spread, but the fire fighters managed to keep it under control. No one was hurt.

The Wantagh Fire Department, along with units from many other nearby departments, battled a house fire yesterday that shut down part of Jerusalem Avenue for hours.

According to the Nassau County Fire Marshal, the fire was an accident. No one was home when it broke out, and no fire fighters were injured while trying to get it under control.

Due to the winds on Thursday, the fire could have easily spread to nearby homes. However, the fire fighters managed to keep damage to the other homes minimal.
