Update: Wantagh Decides on Wednesday's Classes

Officials decide on delays as blizzard cleanup continues.

With a major blizzard approaching, Wantagh school officials have ordered a delayed opening for Wednesday.

Superintendent Maureen Goldberg released the following statement Tuesday:

Due to the abundant snowfall, Wantagh Middle School and all three elementary schools will operate on a two hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28. Specifically the Middle School will begin at 10:16 and the elementaries at 11:15. Relative to Wantagh High School, there will be no morning exams conducted. Afternoon exams will be administered as per the previously published schedule. High School parents should expect a Connect-Ed call from Principal Carolyn Breivogel later this evening with further details about the amended exam schedule. Students who ride the bus, including students attending private and parochial schools, should arrive to their stops based on this two hour delay. We hope that this additional time will allow our students and staff a safer transport to school. If you need to travel tonight, please do so safely. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
