Wantagh Man Arrested For Impersonating Cop: Police

The man tried to pull over another man after displaying a badge, police say.

A Wantagh man was arrested for attempting to pull over a man by displaying a badge on Thursday evening, according to Nassau County Police.

A 43-year-old man was driving south on Wantagh Avenue when a black Jeep pulled alongside and the front passenger, 52-year-old Peter Brasile, yelled at the man to “pull over” as he displayed a gold badge in a black wallet, police said.

The two cars pulled over and the man called 911, according to police.

Officers from the Seventh Precinct responded and the Brasile was placed under arrest, police said.

Brasile is charged with first degree criminal impersonation, police said.

He will be arraigned on Friday.
