Wantagh Resident Opens New Tutoring Business
Isabelle Skira opens new Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services franchise.

Wantagh resident Isabelle Skira has opened a new Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services franchise that offers academic tutoring to students throughout the surrounding area.
The local franchise, which opened earlier this month, provides one-on-one in-home tutoring in specific subject areas such as chemistry and reading as well as specializing in preparation for standardized tests such as the ACT, GRE and SAT.
Skira, who has lived in the Wantagh area for 15 years, is a licensed speech pathologist. Owning a Club Z! franchise is fulfilling for Skira, who said she has dreamed of owning a business in the educational field.

In addition to its services directed at tutoring in basic subjects such as math, science and reading, Club Z! offers summer tutoring, study skills, foreign languages, kindergarten readiness and test preparation for the New York State Regents tests as well as the Catholic School Entrance Exam (COOP).
“The study skills program that we offer is a course that teaches students how to study and organize themselves,” Skira said. “I feel these courses should be mandatory at the elementary, middle and high school level. Unfortunately, all too often our children are left to figure this out on their own.”

The Club Z! method involves the use of students’ own school curriculums to avoid overwhelming those who may already be behind, and to ensure that results are fast, measurable and reflected in the classroom. The parent-friendly program features flexible scheduling and progress reports after each session. Tutors are pre-screened experts in their subject areas.
