Wantagh St. Patrick’s Day Parade Cancelled Due To Coronavirus
The Wantagh Chamber of Commerce has cancelled its St. Patrick's Day Parade for the second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

WANTAGH, NY — The Wantagh St. Patrick’s Day parade has cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to organizers the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook events page.
The parade was set to kick off on March 21 with Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder heading up the line-of-march. A block party on Railroad Avenue following the parade, and a dinner at Mulcahy’s Concert Hall honoring Ryder on March 1,9 have also been cancelled, according to the chamber’s Facebook page.
The chamber made the announcement Wednesday by changing the event notification on Facebook, and posted a short explanation saying that it was “unfortunately” cancelled due to the pandemic.

The chamber hosted its first parade in 2019. Last year’s parade fell at the start of the pandemic and was rescheduled to July. That event was also rescheduled.
