Wantagh Teen Fights Three Officers After Getting Kicked Out Of Temple: Police

PLAINVIEW, NY - A Wantagh teen was arrested for fighting with a police officer after getting kicked out of a temple in Plainview on Tuesday morning, according to Nassau Police.

Natan Weissblum, 18, entered the Young Israel of Plainview Temple on 132 Southern Parkway, went to the second floor and entered a restricted area at about 7 a.m., police said.

When he was asked to leave that area he refused, so officials contacted the police.

Upon police arrival, Weissblum continued to refuse officers order to exit the building and began to act aggressively towards them, police said.

He then punched one of the officers in the face causing pain and a laceration, police said.

A struggle ensued and Weissblum continued to punch, flail his arms, kick and bite officers causing lacerations, bleeding and pain to three officers, police said.

Weissblum was placed in police custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation, police said.

The officers were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries and were later released.

Weissblum is charged with three counts of assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and criminal trespass, police said.

He will be arraigned on Wednesday.
