Workers Burglarized Homes While Repairing Chimneys: Police
The men were arrested Wednesday, police said.

Two Farmingdale men were arrested Wednesday for burglarizing three homes in Farmingdale and Wantagh while they were supposed to be doing chimney repair work, police said.
According to authorities, Robert Heredia, 29, and Gustave Schotker, 33, would gain entry to the homes and remove jewelry and cash while they were repairing chimneys for National Home Improvements Inc. on Jan. 19, Jan. 28 and Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Police said the men stole items from a Clinton Avenue home in Farmingdale, a Darby Road West home in Wantagh and a Jonathan Lane home in Wantagh.
An investigation led to the arrest of Heredia and Schotker and they were charged with second degree burglary. Schotker was additionally charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The men will be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
