2 Attacked At Manhattan Subway Station, Police Say

The assailant has not been arrested yet, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Two people were injured on the mezzanine platform of a Washington Heights subway station early Tuesday, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, a 27-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were on the mezzanine inside the 175th Street station when a man started a fight with them at 2:56 a.m. Tuesday.

The man then left and returned with a stick and hit them several times before running away, police said.

The man received medical attention at the scene, and the woman was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition.

Police said officials are investigating the incident and have not made any arrests yet.
