Gunshots Ring Out In Front Of Washington Heights School: NYPD
Police are looking for two people who fired guns at Audubon Avenue and West 182nd Street on Wednesday afternoon.
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Gunshots rang out Wednesday afternoon in front of a popular Washington Heights school around the time of student dismissal.
Police are looking for two people who fired shots around 3:15 p.m. at Audubon Avenue and West 182nd Street, which is the same block as the Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS), police said.
Police told Patch that nobody was struck by a bullet, but eyewitness comments on Facebook and the Citizen App say that students were sheltering in place.
