  1. The 10034 and 10040 ZIP codes have a combined COVID-19 average
    positivity rate of 3.83 percent for the week of Sept. 6 through 12. During the same period, Manhattan had an average positivity rate of just 1.97 percent. These ZIP codes in Washington Heights and Inwood currently have the highest COVID-19 rates of any in Manhattan, according to city-data. (Washington Heights-Inwood Patch)
  2. As the first week of fully in-person learning since the pandemic comes to a close for New York City's public schools, 126 of the 65,000 classrooms across the city were either fully or partially closed due to coronavirus cases detected in the building.   3. A rendering has been revealed for 5055 Broadway, an 11-story residential building in Inwood Manhattan. The property is located between West 215th and 216th Streets, a short walk from Isham and Inwood Hill Parks.   4. Mayor De Blasio calls for dirt bike crackdown as a boy fights for his life after a Queens hit-and-run. The NYPD and Mayor got aggressive towards the city's issues with illegal dirt bikes on Thursday afternoon at a Staten Island sanitation yard. Two heavy bulldozers ran over about 50 confiscated dirt bikes, ATVs and scooters. (WPIX 11 New York)
