1 Hospitalized In Wash Heights Apartment Fire: FDNY

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY - One person was hospitalized following a Washington Heights apartment fire Friday afternoon, authority said.

The fire was reported about 4:17 p.m. at 625 West 164th St. between Broadway and Fort Washington Avenue, fire officials said.

12 units, including 60 fire personnel and medics, responded to the blaze in a third floor apartment inside the six-story building, officials said.

The fire was deemed under control about 5 a.m., officials said.

One individual was transported to Harlem Hospital. Their condition was not immediately available Monday.

It was not immediately clear if the injured was a tenant of the building.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
