SEE: Commuters Trudge Through Flooded Washington Heights Station
Elevators were down briefly Wednesday evening at the 181st Street 1 train station, where commuters had to wade through ankle-high flooding.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Commuters at Washington Heights' 181st Street subway station had to wade through ankle-high water to get in and out of the station Wednesday night after a rainstorm hit New York City.
"Really?! Flooding on the NE exit of the 181 Street 1 train station, commuting should not be a mission impossible," a commuter said on social media.
The commuter told Patch that she tagged City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez in her tweet so he can call attention to the flooding during the planned RidersRespond subway tour on Thursday.
