Wash Heights Pols And Groups Organize Effort To Clean Local Parks

The Community Park Clean-Up will take place this weekend in Washington Heights and Inwood.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Local residents, organizations, and politicians are banding together this weekend to help clean parks in Washington Heights and Inwood.

For those who want to help clean, the meeting location is Broadway & Dyckman Street at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

"Come with friends and neighbors as we clean our local parks and surrounding streets while also raising awareness of the importance of keeping our community clean," said Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, in a news release.

If you want to be part of the cleaning effort, you need to fill out a short survey to register.

A variety of prominent figures and organizations are part of the Community Park Clean-Up! initiative, including Rodriguez, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Congressman Adriano Espaillat, Assembly Member Carmen De La Rosa, Community Board 12, Community League Of The Heights, WAHI & Inwood Chamber Of Commerce, and the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation.
