Washington Heights Affordable Apartments Up For Grabs At $900/Mo.
A group of apartments on the affordable housing lottery are available until next week for those making as little as $30,000 a year.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — This week is the last chance to apply for four Washington Heights apartments on the affordable housing lottery that will go to those making as little as $30,000 a year.
The three one-bedroom and one two-bedroom spots are up for grabs in new building at 516 West 162nd St, which sits between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway.
The apartments will go to those that make 60 percent of the area's median income, or at least $30,823 for the one-bedroom spots and a combined $36,720 for the two bedroom units.

For the one-bedroom spots, that means that rent will be $899 per month. For the two-bedroom apartments it will be $1,071 per month.

The maximum salary limit for the apartments depends on how many people are applying to live in the unit. Applicants should make no more than $44,820 for one person applying for the one-bedroom and, for both the one or two bedrooms, $51,240 if there are two people applying and $57,660 for three people applying.
Groups of four and five can also apply to the two-bedroom spots.
The West 162nd Street building is the only Washington Heights development that currently has applications for affordable apartments open on the housing lottery. Applications will close on March 3.
The building includes a coin-operated laundry room, a bike room, storage, an outdoor area and an elevator. It is near the A, C and 1 trains and the M100, M101, M3, M4, M5 and BX7 bus stops.
