Washington Heights Plans Black Lives Matter Children's March
The Father's Day children's march will start at Highbridge Park as a tribute to black fathers.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A children's march will weave its way through Washington Heights' parks on Father's Day weekend in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The march is set to start at Highbridge Park at 2 p.m. on Father's Day, which this year is Sunday, June 21.
It will stop at three different parks before ending at 3:30 p.m., according to a flyer sent out by Community Board 12.

The group will first make their way up to 173rd Street and march to the corner of J. Hood Wright Park. For the next stop, they will head up Fort Washington Avenue and stop at Bennett Park at 183rd Street. Finally, marchers will continue up to Fort Tryon Park, where the march will end.
Marchers of all ages are asked to join the event and "march for black fathers," according to the flyer.

The event comes as New York City enters its third week of protests against police brutality and in support of the Black Lives Matter movement spurred by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Marchers are asked to wear a mask.
