• City of Watervliet Notice Re: 23rd Intersection (watervlietny.gov) — Expect significant traffic changes at Broadway and 23rd Street in Watervliet on Wednesday, Oct. 7, as a one-day “quick-build” traffic calming project narrows lanes, adds flex posts, and installs a buffered bike lane. The work responds to multiple serious crashes and is funded partly by an AARP grant and the city’s $4.5 million NY Forward award, with officials urging drivers to use caution and consider alternate routes. 
• Fully Automatic Handgun Found After Albany Men Flee Traffic Stop, Police Say (dailyvoice.com) — Watervliet police say a routine 2:45 a.m. traffic stop near 2nd Avenue and 15th Street led to a chase, two arrests, and the recovery of two loaded handguns, one allegedly modified to fire fully automatically. The driver, from Albany, faces cannabis and traffic charges, while the passenger is jailed on a felony weapons charge as investigators continue probing the second firearm.
