West Village Bar Brawl Leaves Man With Head Injuries: NYPD

One victim was treated for injuries at Bellevue Hospital.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A late night brawl broke out in front of Josie Woods Pub early Sunday around 2:30 a.m., police said.

A 20-year-old man and two unknown men got into a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical fight, according to police.

Police said two men pushed the 20-year-old to the ground and repeatedly punched him. The hefty push caused him to fall on his head, police said.

Emergency services took the victim to Bellevue Hospital on Sun., Feb. 10, where he was treated for injuries.

Police said one man was described as in his 20s or 30s, with a T-shirt and long pants. The second man was described as around the same age, with dreadlocks or braided hair last seen with a long sleeve jacket and long pants.

The two fled in an unknown direction after the scuffle at 11 Waverly Place.

Josie Woods Pub is famously known for being frequented by New York University students, so much so that NYU Local wrote the definitive comparison between Josie Woods and another NYU mainstay Brad's in 2011, before the latter shuttered and was replaced with a Starbucks.
