This Is The Noisiest Street In Manhattan, Study Finds
There were more 311 noise complaints on Seventh Ave in the last year than any other Manhattan street, making it the 13th noisiest citywide.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, MANHATTAN — Seventh Avenue is the noisiest street in Manhattan and one of the loudest in the entire city, a new study found.
Seventh Avenue's 1,708 noise complaints in the past year landed it 13th on a PropertyClub list of the noisiest streets in New York City, topping all other Manhattan streets on the ranking.
The street came in with 1,122 loud music/partying 311 complaints, 491 banging/pounding complaints, 74 for loud talking and 21 for loud televisions between January 2019 and February 2020, the study found.

But while those numbers may seem like a lot for the residents who called them in, researchers said the noise level is actually low considering its position in Manhattan and given other noisier spots in the city.
"That’s really not a lot, given that this is a major thoroughfare that stretches more than 5 miles across Manhattan," PropertyClub wrote. "Compared to Brooklyn or the Bronx, Manhattan actually seems to be a lot quieter."

All 12 other spots that topped Seventh Avenue on the list of the Big Apple's noisiest streets were in the outer boroughs, with Brooklyn taking the title for the loudest of the five boroughs with a total of 56,741 complaints.
Queens' Eighth Street topped the list with 2,638 noise complaints in the past year.
The results surprised researchers, who assumed the city's most congested borough would be among its loudest.
"Manhattan is certainly the busiest, most glamorous and active borough in New York City, so naturally, you’d also expect it to be the noisiest," they wrote. "However, only 10 streets in this borough made our list of the 50 noisiest streets in the city."
